After several weeks of successful recovery in the Cockatoo Ward, Zeke was finally discharged on the 14th of January 2014.

It was a slow start as Zeke struggled to keep down the mountain of medicines that he was required to take to keep his body from rejecting his transplant. As the days went by, he started devouring down all kinds of food he had never been allowed to be considered in his diet.

Hesitant at first, and after some reassurance from dad and mum, he began to savour the taste of chicken nuggets, fish sticks and toast with cheese and vegemite. Sweets ranged from icecreams and fruit to mousse and jelly and he loved his strawberry milk!
